Heading Out.........

With a bit of time off for the holidays we have opted to do what we do best and explore a little.

Golden, Colorado (2010?)

Golden, Colorado (2010?)

We are headed to Zermatt, Switzerland to stay with friends for Christmas and give the boys some fun in the snow that they have missed so much the last few years.

Then we will head south to Morocco for a little surf adventure - we are missing our warm ocean and beaches and need a little fix to get us through the rest of winter.

Puerto Morelos, Mexico (2009?)

Dominical, Costa Rica (Spring 2010)

It will be a bit quiet here on the blog while we enjoy some family time and travel.  Possibly a quick hello here and there but no promises.

I wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone and their families.  Soak in these special moments we have in life and hang on tight to your loved ones.  Spend these holidays eating yummy food, filling the air with laughter, reminiscing of years past and finally appreciating all that we have been given.

To our family  - we miss you immensely this year and look forward to the holidays together in the future.  Until then enjoy all the fun times in California for us!!!!!!  Love to all of you!!!!!!!

Turbulent Seas

We awoke to some rough seas yesterday.  It is fascinating to watch the ocean change and come to life.

This wild ocean feeds my soul and gives me life and energy even when the sun is not shining

Our hearts and thoughts are with the people of Connecticut during these trying and sad times.
May there be peace in our world.

The Boys Tree

We picked out a tree together and the rest was all the boys.

I had bought an array of crafts - felt, pipe cleaners, craft paper, ribbon - in hopes the boys would be excited about making some christmas ornaments.  There was not much motivation - until- we picked up some hama beads and the boys spent an entire day making ornaments for the tree

our crooked star that never wants to stand straight

one of carith's mini snowflakes

the colorful lights the boys chose

the boys picked the most colorful lights and a box of ornaments with colors to match.  they added some ribbon and their personal touch with all their hand made decorations.

sometimes mom needs to let them follow their own inspiration
thank you for the very beautiful tree boys

Winter Wonderland and a Goodbye

A few weeks ago we headed up to London to spend some time with our friends who are moving back to the States any day now.  We headed to Hyde Park to check out Winter Wonderland.

this christmas market was all about the food - we started out with mulled wine, belgian waffles with chocolate, sausage on a baguette and churros

all the marzipan you could possibly want

next stop pretzels

just a small stack of sausages

a pause for beer

meat on a stick

grilled salmon

roasted chestnuts

we had to try these

these people are crazy - it would be so cold

candy apples - we skipped these but had to warm up with some baileys and hot chocolate

Ro had to try out one game

headed through the park

Jim feeding the squirrel while it was climbing on Ro

Dill and a new friend

Piccadilly Square
I do love wandering around big cities at night and when the weather is cool - the christmas crowds added excitement to the air

China town

after enjoying the city we headed back to Epsom and a delicious dinner at a cozy, little italian restaurant.  We had a wonderful day with Jim and Alexi and will miss them on our fun adventures while on this side of the pond.  I am sure we will meet up again States side one day soon.  Until then we wish you two all the luck on this med school journey and look forward to when we see you next.
Travel Safe - Cheers
