The end of one, the beginning of another

The Beginning of a Long Road

Charlotte, North Carolina Airport - August 2010 (EARLY AM)

St. Maarten, April 2012 - Sunset

This journey of ours began on an island in August of 2010 with the intensity of a hurricane and has come to completion this month (March, 2014) with exhaustion and some wearing but definitely a strong fight until the end.  It seems that through the entire process there was always a bump or two in the road that we would have to hurdle, but we did each and every time.  At times when we thought it would be impossible to keep going we pushed and pushed and got through.  With a positive attitude, extremely hard work, and believing that it would always work out  Michael has succeeded.  He officially graduated April 5th, 2014 and was accepted into a Family Medicine Residency Program in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Congratulations to Michael, we are so very proud of you!!!!!!!!

The experience has provided us as a family with opportunities we would never have encountered.  As we look back we would not have done anything any other way.  Although we faced many bumps in the road we always came out with a positive on the other side.  Our boys have so many experiences that will help them throughout the rest of their lives and we are so thankful for this.

Amsterdam, March 2013

In all honesty we were shocked that we got Wyoming for Michael's match, as our hearts were really leaning in another direction.  Once again we were handed more lessons.  As we are adjusting to the idea and concept of living there our minds are opening.  It will be another opportunity to grow and learn as a family.  We will be in a small town in a state that has a ton of outdoor opportunities for us to explore.  The program is excellent and will provide a strong base of experience for Michael to build his career. Education for the boys will prove to be a challenge and once again I feel we are being lead in the direction of homeschooling.  It seems that it fits our family better, our lifestyle, and what we see as important for our boys.

Cheyenne, Wyoming - March, 2014

As we have reached the end of one road we begin a new journey on another.

The End of Hat Season (we hope)

I finished off (true) winter with a few hats for next year.  A couple for a dear friends little ones and an orange one for Dillon.  I think he has been asking for an orange hat for years now.  I guess it had to be the right time and place.
We are more than ready for a warm spring and some summer weather but mother nature seems to think otherwise.  We awoke to 4 inches of fresh snow.
